Chapter Four: "Interdimensional Ronins"

The Ronins and Sailors had gone to Sai's house. Even Mia and little Cye went. Cye fixed a huge meal for the group, including sushi, shrimp, and everything else imaginable. Mia and Lita helped do what they could, but Cye moved around the kitchen so fast that they couldn't possibly keep up. As Cye served the feast fit for a king's entourage, Amy thought long and hard about Cye.

"He's perfect! He can cook faster than Lita, probably better, too. He's so handsome. I don't know how Mia fell for Ryo instead of Cye! Sai's absolutely perfect! I wonder how he'd react to me asking for a date? No! What are you thinking?!? You could never ask Cye for a date. He's probably got a girlfriend, anyway. It might not go over too well. Still, it'd be interesting to think of the possibilities, wouldn't it? Maybe--"

"Amy, what would you like to eat?" asked Cye, with a genuine concern on his face as she sat there with a blank stare on hers.

"Oh! I'm sorry, Cye. I was just thinking about something. Oh, maybe some sushi and shrimp," Amy answered as she glanced over the vast selection of food before her. Cye put some sushi on a plate, then carefully arranged eight shrimp around the sushi. He then presented the food to Amy, who nodded in thanks and started eating.

"That's one strange girl," thought Cye to himself as he went back to the kitchen to get a plate for himself. "But, she is beautiful. And intelligent. I'd bet she would be the perfect woman for a girlfriend, but she must have a boyfriend in her own dimension. She's too beautiful not to. I wish I had the courage to ask her out!"

Lita interrupted his train of thought. "Cye, you should ask Amy out," she whispered as she passed by him to return an empty pot to the kitchen. As she went back, she pulled Cye off to the side and said matter-of-factly, "Cye, ask her out. I can see you like her. She wants you, too. Just ask her. She's never had a real boyfriend before, and I can tell she wants you. She needs some happiness in her life for a change. All she ever does is be a doctor every day, then come home to my place and study ancient Greek mythology. She's been like this ever since her parents died two years ago."

"What can I do? How can you know for sure that she really likes me?" Cye asked between bites of the various foods he had on his plate. "Besides, she's from another dimension. How would it work out?"

"We'll worry about that after we beat the Dark Mage. Just take her out on a date tonight. She'll go; I promise. I can even get Darrian and Serena to double with you if you'd like."

"All right, if you think you can, I'll try. She is beautiful and smart. It's worth a shot."

"That's the spirit!" Lita said as she lightly kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you. You have no idea how much we all ned this. The way she's been acting lately has all of us worried."

"All right, but Im doing this for me. I think she'd make a great girlfriend. I just hope you're right about all this."

Cye walked away and pulled Amy aside, bringing her plate with him. He handed her her plate and directed her to sit at the small table in the living room they were now in. He sat across from her at the small table and continued eating for a few seconds, until she finished her plate. He then started warily, "Amy, I've been told that you seem to have taken a liking to me."

Amy looked up from her plate and was now more nervous than she had ever been before. "Wh-wh-who t-told y-y-you th-th-that?"

"Lita. Don't worry, Amy. I was seriously considering this before she said anything to me. I was wondering, Amy--"

"Cye, please. I know Lita tried to pressure you into this. You don't have to."

"No, Amy, she didn't pressure me into this. She just convinced me that it was right. I was thinking about this before she said anything, anyway. Amy, would you go on a date with me tonight?"

"Cye, are you sure this is what you want? What would your girlfriend think?"

"Girlfriend?!? What girlfriend!? I've never had a girlfriend in my life!"

"What? How is that possible? Someone like you should have no problem getting a girlfriend."

"Well, how is it that you don't have a boyfriend? You shouldn't have any trouble in htat area, either."

"Good point, but I don't see how you figure."

"Oh, nevermind! I know a losing battle when I see one. Are you gonna go on that date with me tonight or not?"

"Only if you're sure this is what you want."

"I'm sure."

"All right, then, Cye. I'll go."

*****

That evening went rather smoothly. Darrian and Serena went with Amy and Cye, but did not interfere in anything. While the group was gone, sleeping arrangements were made for that evening. Mia and Ryo agreed to house Darrian, Serena, Amy, and Lita. Anubis said Kayura wouldn't mind if they housed Mina and Raye for the night. Cye and Amy managed to make it back to his house by midnight and found a letter. In it, Mia told Cye the plans for the sleeping arrangements. Cye tossed it into a small garbage can and told Amy that there was a guest room upstairs. She went to the room and Cye didn't see her for the rest of the night.

Amy walked down the stairs the next morning to find Cye asleep on a couch and a TV on. She gently shook him to wake him up.

"Huh? Wha-what's going on?"

"It's me, Amy. You fell asleep on the couch last night."

"That would explain my sore shoulder," Cye moaned as he stood up and tried to move his stiff left shoulder. "Amy, if you want to take a shower, go back to the room you slept in last night and look through the dresser. There should be something that'll fit you, at least until I can wash your clothes."

"Oh, you have a washer and dryer?"

"Who doesn't?"

"Me. Lita and I use a laundromat."

"Oh. Well, like I said, there should be clothes up there that'll fit you. If not, there's a bunch of robes in the closet. After you finish showering, I'll take mine. Then, I'll wash clothes. I've got some from this week that need washing anyway."

"Okay. See you in a little while."

*****

About 9:30, well after Cye and Amy had showered and Cye had washed clothes, there was a knock on the door. Cye and Amy were in the middle of breakfast, so Cye opened the door with his plate in hand. The visitors were the rest of the group. All of them wnated to know what had happened the night before, and were pressing for an explanation. When Cye and Amy both explained what had happened, and everyone was finally satisfied with the explanation, the group started discussing options around Sai's dining table.

"Maybe we'd stand a better chance if we could get back to our dimension," proposed Lita.

"How do you figure?" countered Sage.

"We have more resources available in our dimension. Namely, Luna and Artemis, our advisors. They can help us plan an attack," scoffed Raye.

"Raye, he was just asking a question. There's no need to take his head off!" Amy stood up and decided to make a proposal of her own. "If we go back to our dimension, we will have access to more resources. Plus, there's more opportunity to bash the Dark Mage and his bunch. He's mainly concerned with our world, not yours. Therefore, we should have less work in for us if we go back to our dimension."

"Only if we go with you," Cye demanded. Kala has such an incredible power. Maybe we can help you. We do have a powerful tool-the Armor of Inferno. It is more powerful than the five of us just fighting side-by-side."

"How powerful are your Armors when not in this dimension?"

Ryo spoke up for the first time in a while. "We'll cross that bridge when we get there. Just tell us how we can get to your dimension."

"Not so quick, Ryo of Wildfire," spoke a familiar female voice. "The Ancient has told me that there is a problem with going to the otehr dimension. The Armors may not work."

"I already said, Kayura, that we'll cross that bridge when we get to it."

"Well, then, at least take me with you. If your Armors won't work, I know where we might be able to find replacement powers. Either way, I'm going, too. You can't stop me from helping in the fight."

Anubis stood up and walked over to her. "What about Akira?"

Mia then pointed something out. "Little Cye and Akira love to play together. I can stay behind and watch Akira, too. It won't be that much trouble. I can take them to my grandmother's if I have to work. She loves kids, especially little ones."

Anubis reluctantly agreed, but pointed out that getting to the Sailors' dimension would be difficult, at best. Mina countered with, "We have something called the Sailor Teleport. We might be able to use your powers to enhance it so we can transport White Blaze, Anubis and Kayura."

"Yes," added Amy, "but the only way it'll work is if we arrange ourselves in a one Ronin, one Sailor pattern. And, we'll need to be outside to do it."

Everyone went outside and awaited Amy's insturctions. "First, we all need to transform. Ronins, look away from us as we transform. We don't need you seeing us naked." The Ronins did as they were told.

"Mars Star Power!"

"Jupiter Star Power!"

"Venus Star Power!"

"Mercury Star Power!"

"Moon Crystal Power!"

Ionstead of waiting, the Ronins transformed, as well.

"Armor of Cruelty! Tao chi!"

"Armor of Wildfire! Tao chi!"

"Halo!"

"Strata!"

"Torrent!"

"Hardrock!"

When all the Ronins and Sailors had transformed, Amy continued her instrtuctions. "Now, Everyone, arrange yourselves in a cricle around Kayura, Anubis, Darrian, and White Blaze."

All did as instructed. As soon as the circle was formed, everyone knew exactly what to do.

"Mercury Star Power!"

"Armor ot Torrent!"

"Venus Star Power!"

"Armor of Halo!"

"Jupiter Star Power!"

"Armor of Hardrock!"

"Mars Star Power!"

"Armor of Strata!"

"Moon Crystal Power!"

"Armor of Wildfire!"

All then called out in unison, "Teleport!"

*****

"Where are we?" asked Kento as the group appeared in a small, open field.

"Uh, Kento, that's kinda a no-brainer. We're in the Sailors' dimension."

"Yeah, I got that much, Rowen. I mean, where are we in their dimension?"

"You are standing on what will be the Crystal Palace in a thousand years or so," answered Serena.

"Wow. How do you know that?"

"Simple, Kento. A few years back, a small child came from the future. After she stole my crystal locket and reluctantly gave it back, we all went to the future, where we learned that that child, Rini, is my daughter. Amy scanned the city's plan into her visor computer. When we got back, she figured out where all of the Crystal Points we didn't know about are and where Crystal Palace would be. That's how we figured out that this is the site for Crystal Palace."

"Yeah, and Rini is my daughter, too," Darrian pointed out.

"Cool."

-----End of Chapter Four ("Interdimensional Ronins")-----

Notes

Well, I managed to get another chapter out this weekend. One thing, though--if you could see the handwritten version of this, you wouldn't understand some of what went on there. That's because I left gaps in the handwritten version, and I rewrote a lot of the fic as I typed it. I think it ends up being a lot better, though.

Anyway, I hope you are starting to see the direction I'll be taking with character pairings. I'm trying to make it as obvious as possible. Also, I know I've only written one really good fight scene so far, but it'll get better, I promise. I have a few tricks still up my sleeve besides what I've discussed on the mailing lists, so I think this may be a rather enjoyable fic.

Please, let me know how you liked this chapter! I love getting mail about my fics!

Stay tuned for cahpter five (as-yet-untitled).
